These terms govern your use of Windyn: the browser extensions and this website, provided by (“we”). Contact: . How we handle your data is explained in the Privacy policy.

1. The service

Windyn keeps your bookmarks and syncs them across your browsers. You can use it without an account (guest mode, with your bookmarks in a folder of your computer) or with an account (your bookmarks on our servers, with sync and sharing). Windyn is free.

2. Your account

You must be at least 14 years old, or the higher age your country requires to use online services on your own.
Give a valid email address and keep your password secret: what is done with your account is your responsibility, unless it is our fault.
One account per person. Accounts are personal and can’t be transferred.
You can delete your account at any time, in Settings → Delete account.

3. Your content

Your bookmarks, notes and folders are yours. You give us only the permission we need to store them, sync them and show them to the people you share them with or, with a public link, to anyone who has that link. You are responsible for what you save and share. In guest mode your bookmarks are only in your folder: keep a backup of it.

4. What is not allowed

Don’t use Windyn to:

save or share illegal content, or links to it;
spread malware, phishing, spam, or content that infringes other people’s rights;
harass people, or spread their personal data without a reason the law allows;
break or test the security of the service, overload it, access other people’s data, create accounts automatically or find out which email addresses have an account.

5. Reports and moderation

Folders published with a public link come from their users: we don’t check them in advance. Anyone can report a folder with “Report this folder” on its page, or by writing to . If content is illegal or breaks these terms, we may turn off its link, remove it, or suspend or close the account, and we tell the person concerned why, unless the law forbids it. You can contest a decision by replying to our message. Reports are reviewed, including automatically. In a shared folder, we record who added, changed and opened each bookmark, so a decision can reach the people responsible. Content that is clearly illegal — in particular child sexual abuse material — is reported to the authorities and kept as the law requires, and the accounts of those who added or changed it may be suspended; in these cases we may not warn you first.

6. Availability and changes to the service

We work to keep Windyn running, but we can’t promise that it will always be available or free of errors. We may change features, or suspend the service for maintenance or security. If we decide to close Windyn, we’ll tell you at least 30 days in advance, so that you can export your bookmarks.

7. Liability

Windyn is provided free of charge, as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect damage, nor for the loss of data you could have kept with an export or a backup. Nothing in these terms limits liability for intent or gross negligence, or the rights that the law gives consumers and that can’t be waived.

8. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we update the date at the top; for important changes we tell you in Windyn or by email before they apply. If you don’t agree, you can stop using Windyn and delete your account.

9. Law and courts

These terms are governed by Italian law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live, and you can go to the court of the place where you live.

10. Trademarks

Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Opera, Brave and Vivaldi are trademarks of their owners. Windyn is not affiliated with them.

These terms are available in English and Italian; if they differ, the Italian version prevails.

1. Il servizio

Windyn conserva i tuoi preferiti e li sincronizza tra i tuoi browser. Puoi usarlo senza account (modalità ospite, con i preferiti in una cartella del tuo computer) o con un account (i preferiti sui nostri server, con sincronizzazione e condivisione). Windyn è gratuito.

2. Il tuo account

Devi avere almeno 14 anni, o l’età più alta che il tuo Paese richiede per usare da solo i servizi online.
Indica un indirizzo email valido e tieni segreta la password: quello che viene fatto con il tuo account è sotto la tua responsabilità, salvo che sia colpa nostra.
Un account per persona. Gli account sono personali e non si possono cedere.
Puoi eliminare l’account quando vuoi, da Impostazioni → Elimina l’account.

3. I tuoi contenuti

Preferiti, note e cartelle sono tuoi. Ci concedi solo il permesso che serve per conservarli, sincronizzarli e mostrarli alle persone con cui li condividi o, con un link pubblico, a chiunque abbia quel link. Sei responsabile di ciò che salvi e condividi. In modalità ospite i preferiti stanno solo nella tua cartella: tienine un backup.

4. Cosa non è permesso

Non usare Windyn per:

salvare o condividere contenuti illegali, o link a contenuti illegali;
diffondere malware, phishing, spam o contenuti che violano i diritti di altri;
molestare persone, o diffonderne i dati personali senza un motivo ammesso dalla legge;
violare o mettere alla prova la sicurezza del servizio, sovraccaricarlo, accedere ai dati di altri, creare account in modo automatico o scoprire quali indirizzi email hanno un account.

5. Segnalazioni e moderazione

Le cartelle pubblicate con un link pubblico provengono dai loro utenti: non le controlliamo in anticipo. Chiunque può segnalare una cartella con «Segnala questa cartella» nella sua pagina, o scrivendo a . Se un contenuto è illegale o viola questi termini, possiamo disattivarne il link, rimuoverlo, o sospendere o chiudere l’account, e ne comunichiamo i motivi alla persona interessata, salvo che la legge lo vieti. Puoi contestare una decisione rispondendo al nostro messaggio. Le segnalazioni vengono esaminate, anche automaticamente. In una cartella condivisa registriamo chi ha aggiunto, modificato e aperto ogni preferito, così che una decisione raggiunga i responsabili. I contenuti palesemente illegali — in particolare il materiale pedopornografico — vengono segnalati alle autorità e conservati come richiede la legge, e gli account di chi li ha aggiunti o modificati possono essere sospesi; in questi casi potremmo non avvisarti prima.

6. Disponibilità e modifiche al servizio

Ci impegniamo a mantenere Windyn funzionante, ma non possiamo garantire che sia sempre disponibile o privo di errori. Possiamo cambiare le funzioni, o sospendere il servizio per manutenzione o sicurezza. Se decidiamo di chiudere Windyn, ti avvisiamo con almeno 30 giorni di anticipo, così puoi esportare i preferiti.

7. Responsabilità

Windyn è fornito gratuitamente, così com’è. Nei limiti consentiti dalla legge, non rispondiamo dei danni indiretti né della perdita di dati che avresti potuto conservare con un’esportazione o un backup. Nulla in questi termini limita la responsabilità per dolo o colpa grave, né i diritti che la legge riconosce ai consumatori e a cui non si può rinunciare.

8. Modifiche a questi termini

Se cambiamo questi termini aggiorniamo la data in alto; per le modifiche importanti ti avvisiamo in Windyn o via email prima che si applichino. Se non sei d’accordo, puoi smettere di usare Windyn ed eliminare l’account.

9. Legge applicabile e foro

Questi termini sono regolati dalla legge italiana. Se sei un consumatore, mantieni anche la tutela delle norme inderogabili del Paese in cui vivi, e puoi rivolgerti al giudice del luogo in cui risiedi.

10. Marchi

Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Opera, Brave e Vivaldi sono marchi dei rispettivi titolari. Windyn non è affiliato a loro.
